Inspire Youth Arts are inviting  young dancers aged 11-18, up to 24 for those with disabilities, living and/or studying in Nottingham/Nottinghamshire to get involved – whether they are dusting off their tap shoes or have never danced before, all are welcome.

Eight groups of people, including the group at Inspire Youth Arts will take part in a 12-week programme of dance during summer 2025, exploring tap and body percussion. Each group will get the opportunity to perform in their local area and will feature in a dance film to be premiered in Nottingham in September 2025.

Inspire Youth Arts are delighted to be hosting Tappin’ In in Mansfield and urge as many young people in our community who have an interest in dance and/or music to sign up. No experience is necessary.

Stephanie Ridings, Founder and Artistic Director of Tappin' In said: “Tappin’ In is for everyone! We believe in breaking down barriers using joyful, inclusive art forms – like tap dancing and body percussion so that everyone feels confident to get involved. We can’t wait to meet new participants in Mansfield and share their stories.”

Lou Lomas, Creative Producer at Tappin' In added: “We hope Tappin’ In 2025 brings participants a sense of pride in their local community as well as contributing to improved health and well-being. In our experience if you get tapping you will feel good!”

Tappin’ In 2025 brings together partners from the arts, community, health and wellbeing sectors alongside a creative team, to create a bespoke Tappin’ In experience made by and for the communities who get involved.

Built on the success of Tappin’ In 2022, the project is a co-created participation tap dancing and storytelling extravaganza. Tappin' In 2022 was part of the Birmingham 2022 Festival and Birmingham International Dance Festival.

Tappin’ In 2025 is produced by Tappin’ In Ltd. Partners include Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, Inspire Culture, Live & Local, Blackfriars Arts Centre and Outside Arts.

Tappin’ In is supported by FABRIC and Arts Council England.
