Over 500 young singers from across Nottinghamshire will be lighting up the stage at the Royal Concert Hall this December as An Inspired Christmas Concert returns to Nottingham, promising a jam-packed festive evening full of Christmas tunes and music making.
Hosted by local BBC journalist John Hess, who has delighted audiences since 2016 with his spirited hosting (and woolly Christmas jumper!), the concert on 9th December will bring together Inspire Music and Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Music Hub’s Primary and Secondary schools to celebrate a fantastic year of their ongoing partnership with the National Youth Choir of Great Britain.
This year’s concert is particularly special as it marks a new era of collaboration with City Music Hub performers, celebrating the joint efforts of the newly combined Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Music Hub, which reaches over 23,500 young people annually through music learning opportunities in and out of schools. The organisation’s singing strategy is wide-reaching from Early Years children to primary years and all the way through secondary school.
Performances will include mashups of Christmas carols, traditional classics, pitch battles and A Cappella led by the hub’s Vocal Lead Daniela Smith, who is also Assistant Musical Director to Vicky McClure’s Our Dementia Choir in Nottingham. Doors open at 6:15pm, with a special musical welcome in the foyer and interval entertainment from singer songwriters DRING and Jude Kirk from Inspire Youth Arts.
Our annual Christmas concert is a real highlight of our year at Inspire, giving our
schools an incredible platform to showcase their learning, thanks to the
support of the Royal Concert Hall and Arc Partnership. It’s a celebration of
Nottingham and Nottinghamshire’s amazing talent and the vibrant musical
community we’ve fostered through our services. We’re looking forward to another
spectacular show!
The concert will also be livestreamed and available to watch online on the night.
