Details on animated films to be shown:
SHORT ANIMATIONS - A selection of short animations curated by the London International Animation Festival. The films are largely without dialogue and come from all over the world including Hungary, Portugal, Latvia, Russia, France, UK, USA and more.
LOST & FOUND (Philip Hunt, 2008, 24 mins, UK) - Based on the book by Oliver Jeffers, Lost and Found tells the story of a little boy who one day finds a penguin on his doorstep. Although at first he is unsure what to do, the boy becomes determined to help the penguin find his way back home... even if that means rowing all the way to the South Pole! Along the way, the two experience exciting adventures, such as battling storms and encountering a giant octopus, and discover the meaning and value of true friendship.
OINK (Mascha Halberstad, NL 2022, 72 mins, subtitled) - Our final film is a hilarious romp for the whole family. Nine-year-old Babs dreams of a pet of her own and is delighted when her grandfather gives her a piglet. She convinces her parents to let her keep the newly named Oink, and despite some truly chaotic toilet training, the pink whirlwind manages to charm everyone. But as it turns out, Babs’ grandfather’s gift may not have been entirely innocent. He has a secret, and it involves sausages...
