Celebrate local heritage, culture and arts on Friday 25 August for Nottinghamshire Day! Whether you're planning on attending the Nottinghamshire
Day Festival at Sherwood Forest on Saturday 26 August or just out and about around the county, there's plenty of inspiring activities for all the family to get involved in.
Now in its third year, the Nottinghamshire Day festival will once again take place at Sherwood Forest on Saturday 26 August, where you can discover more about what's on offer locally, enjoy an all-action arena show and take part in family-friendly activities!
Nottinghamshire Day will form part of the Robin Hood Festival this year, with a host of interactive events and activities including storytelling, guided walks, medieval musicians, quizzes, archery, and axe throwing, plus more.
Inspire and Miner2Major project will be at Notts Day this year, come and see us in the family-focused zone for some Big Draw 2023 activities! We're launching community workshops for the Time to Connect arts trail across Sherwood Forest. Work with local artists Mandy Keating and Tracy Meek to create artwork representing wildlife, people, heritage, and landscape.
Local people will have the opportunity to be interviewed by national photographer Alistair Morrison, who is the creator of the Time to Connect project, he is travelling around the 100 counties of the UK, capturing people’s images and stories through recordings and photographs.
It's set to be a fantastic fun family filled day so join the celebrations #NottsDay!
New features have been added to the Inspire Picture Archive - a unique resource of over 32,000 historical images of Nottinghamshire including bygone shops, favourite places to visit, historic sites and events.
Do you have photographs that reflect your life in Nottinghamshire in all its great variety? We would love to see your photographs reflecting your life in our county - the Nottinghamshire Day Festival and other celebrations will be a great photo opportunity.
Visit the Inspire Picture Archive to find out more, or you can upload directly here. Your memories will be preserved forever and join over 5 million documents in the care of Nottinghamshire Archives.
