Inspire has received the exciting news that it has been chosen to join the Arts Council England’s National Portfolio from April 2023, for the second time. National Portfolio Organisations are those who received regular funding from the Arts Council, and Inspire will receive £504,599 each year for a three-year period.
Inspire has been awarded National Portfolio Organisation funding from Arts Council England to develop exciting and innovative cultural programmes enabling more people to access and participate in creative and cultural activity in Nottinghamshire. Inspire will
- deliver an exciting programme of cultural activities and events in key libraries across the county for children and families
- deliver a range of performing and digital art projects for young people with disabilities
- create additional cultural opportunities in Nottinghamshire’s four Levelling up for Culture Places; Ashfield, Bassetlaw, Mansfield, Newark and Sherwood.
Inspire joined the National Portfolio in 2018 and this funding is a sign of Art Council England’s continued commitment to Inspire.
“We are delighted to become an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation for the second time. We are proud of the work we have done in recent years to develop our creative, cultural and arts provision, and are thrilled that this investment from Arts Council England will allow us to build on our offer further and reach new audiences. The additional uplift funding will enable us to focus additional activity across the 4 districts of Nottinghamshire designated as levelling up places of culture (Ashfield, Bassetlaw, Mansfield and Newark and Sherwood) as well as our core programmes across the whole of the county”.
“It is wonderful that Inspire has been selected to become an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation again. This new funding will allow Inspire to further develop the high-quality arts and culture offer that they provide to local residents across the county"
"We want creative communities in
every corner of the country to have the opportunity to thrive, which is why
we’re delighted to be increasing our investment in Inspire for the next three
years. It'll be great to see them continue to work with schools, children and
young people from all backgrounds, delivering theatre, visual arts and musical
educational programmes in local libraries across Nottinghamshire."
