Inspire Youth Arts have announced their autumn programme of weekly dance and music classes available for young people across the county to access, many for free.
From street dance to rock school, contemporary dance to African drumming, there’s a whole range of professionally-led groups to join, with many now taking place online.
Under normal circumstances the team usually delivers a range of music, dance and digital projects from its Mansfield base (at The Old Library on Leeming Street) and across the whole of Nottinghamshire, including a mixture of workshops, events, installations and showcases, usually reaching 1500-2000 young people each year. However, with the start of lockdown, much of their programme had to be moved online.
Andy Dawson, Manager at Inspire Youth Arts, said “When the country went into lockdown we immediately cancelled all face to face delivery and put all our efforts into creating an online service which has been hugely successful and well-received by young people, youth organisations and artists. We’ve so far been able to deliver 40 projects, engaging with over 600 young people and contributed to the two digital festivals during the summer – Nottstopping and Upload.”
Full details of all the classes can be found online here.
