Shortlist announced 10 January 2020
The most outstanding individuals and institutions that the FE sector has to offer have been recognised in the shortlist for the 2020 Tes FE Awards. It’s been revealed that Inspire Learning has been shortlisted for the Adult and Community Learning provider of the year and Outstanding GCSE resits provision award.
Inspire Learning delivers a range of services on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council, and the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA). Part of Inspire Culture, Learning and Libraries, a Community Benefit Society, Inspire Learning delivers educational services for the whole community, enabling Nottinghamshire residents to develop their skills by following courses tailored to their needs.
Peter Gaw, INSPIRE Chief Executive commented:
‘Our learning offer has gone from strength to strength since Inspire was launched in April 2106. We are embedding the delivery of accessible and affordable adult and community learning into the local library offer in localities and at times learners want.’
Councillor John Cottee, Chairman of Nottinghamshire County Council Communities and Place Committee added: “The importance of community learning in bringing people together, building confidence and supporting people towards further study and employment is key. The examples I’ve seen of family learning where parents and children learn together have had a far reaching impact for those taking part.”
Tes FE editor Stephen Exley said: “Excellent practice exists right across the further education sector, and those shortlisted for the Tes FE Awards are the cream of the crop. Our judges were extremely impressed with the calibre of entries. To be shortlisted is an extraordinary achievement.”
The winners will be revealed at a gala awards evening at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London on Friday 20 March 2020.
