Inspire is proud to be supporting schools and education settings on their Artsmark journey, inspiring children and young people to create, experience, and participate in great arts and culture.
Artsmark is the creative quality standard for schools and education settings, awarded by Arts Council England, recognising their commitment to high quality arts and cultural education.
Inspire offers education settings who are working towards, or currently hold an Artsmark Award, a range of opportunities. We have a wide cultural programme across our venues, with opportunities for school groups to participate and experience exciting arts events.
Live theatre in libraries: Performances for Schools
Live theatre can provide memorable learning experiences for schools to support progression for all learners. Inspire is working with The Spark Arts for Children, to bring some of the best performers and theatre companies into libraries for school groups.
Music Making: Nottinghamshire Music Education Hub
Nottinghamshire Music Education Hub works with schools and partner organisations to deliver exciting music making opportunities for children and young people aged 5-18 years in Nottinghamshire. Regularly running large events for pupils to be involved in and can help create a bespoke package for your school or trust. Nottinghamshire Music Hub can also offer Arts Award support for schools.
Galleries in Libraries: West Bridgford, Mansfield Central Beeston and Worksop libraries have large gallery spaces and a changing programme of visual art exhibitions that will give your children the opportunity to see original works displayed professionally in a local public space.
Works could include local or national artists and works made in collaboration with groups in Nottinghamshire. Self-led visits with your children can include finding out about the exhibiting artists, the techniques used, how the work is mounted and displayed and what the young people think of the work.
Library Visits: Inspire Libraries are pleased to welcome school classes to visit the library. Regular book exchange visits can help maintain pupil's interest in reading for pleasure outside the classroom. Inspire library staff can also offer library led sessions to introduce pupils to the range of resources on offer.
