Adventures in Music is a magical musical journey for children aged 2-5 and their families. These free sessions use rhythm, music, and movement to develop children's language skills, spark their imagination and build their confidence in exploring and making music.
Each course runs for 10 weeks (one session per week), at 12 Inspire libraries and is repeated 3 times within each of our NPO years (usually May, September, and January) with a different enchanting theme each week - from pirates to fairies, a mermaid city to a monster mountain - allowing children to clap, stomp, shake, dance and sing.
Below we've selected a few of the feedback comments from each year's sessions.
We've really loved AIM. Lovely relaxed atmosphere and my 3 yr old asks each week where will we be going on our singing journey. It's really sparked her imagination. Thank you!
Fantastic event. Very much appreciate the library running events like this. I am a stay at home mum and it's fabulous that it's free and such a quality session. Thank you
Alfie was really shy before coming to these sessions. I have especially enjoyed watching him interact with Danielle.
My daughter has enjoyed these sessions so much. It's been a great experience for her and she looks forward to coming.
Claire has been great with the children and my daughter has loved singing the songs at home too.
It has been great - a super mix of songs, instruments and stories. The children love her and have had a wonderful time. Confidence has grown over the 10 weeks.
Activity was severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, meaning that libraries were closed for the majority of year 3. Our Adventures in Music series moved online, initially with videos released each week with a new theme (in keeping with the original sessions that took place in libraries), and then as live sessions, delivered to groups via Zoom, with children receiving their own special adventure kits at home.
Below is one of the videos created at the start of the pandemic for families to join in with from home. Click here to watch all the videos created as part of the project.
Adventures in Music returned back to libraries for years 4 and 5.
