Family theatre booking information

Below we've tried to answer some of your most frequently asked questions when booking tickets to our family theatre productions. If there's anything we've not covered below please give our ASK Inspire team a call on 01623 677 200 or email ask@inspireculture.org.uk

You can buy tickets online via Eventbrite - see inspireculture.org.uk/familytheatre .

You can also purchase tickets by telephone, calling our ASK Inspire team on 01623 677 200 or in person at your local library.

Refunds will only be offered in the event the performance is cancelled.

Concessions are available for library members. Please bring your library card with you on the day of the performance with your ticket.

No, when you book with us you will be asked for your name and contact telephone/email. This will enable us to keep you informed of any changes to the performance. It will also ensure we have an up to date guest list which means you can be admitted even if you forget your printed tickets on the day. You can also show your ticket on your phone/device.

There is no allocated seating at any of the library venues.

Seating arrangements can vary due to the nature of the performance. But usually, there will be a mixture of seating available on the floor with cushions and on chairs. There are always spaces available for wheelchair users at our library venues.

It is likely the performance area will be available to take your seats approximately 10-15 minutes before the performance.

When a performance takes place at a library at a time when it is usually closed to the public – you can expect the doors to be opened around 15 minutes before the performance time.

Our family theatre performance event information will always indicate the general age suitability of the performance. This means that the show has been created with that age of children in mind so the content may not hold the attention of a much younger/older child. We do not want this to be a barrier for families attending so please discuss with the library if you need more information.

Babes in arms are welcome. There is no charge and no ticket required for accompanying children aged under 18 months.

We work hard to make all our performances a welcoming, relaxed and friendly experience for the whole family.

Most performances take place in the children’s library or a meeting room space, library staff will be happy to explain where a show will take place in your library.

Often, children can sit on cushions on the floor, to give them the best possible view of the action. Chairs are available for adults. But, you and your child are free to decide what will work best for you.

Seating arrangements vary depending on the nature of the show and the available space.

There is always space for a child to move away from the main show if for any reason they need a break from the action, with library staff on hand to assist if needed.
