Winter Mini Challenge 2024 - Marvellous Makers

The Winter Mini Challenge is back for 2024! This online challenge invites children aged 4 - 11 to read three books or more, between 1 December and 20 February, to earn digital rewards.

Following the popular Marvellous Makers Summer Reading Challenge - which saw over 8,000 children in Nottinghamshire take part - the Marvellous Makers have come back for a Winter Mini Challenge.

Children can join Amelia, Charlie, Kai, Laila, Yasmin, Maya, Riley, Bob the Pug, Rocky the box-model dragon and the mischievous squirrel Tails and become winter reading champions. Reach your reading goal to unlock an adorable limited-edition online badge and a new certificate of achievement to print off and treasure! 

How to take part

Taking part in the Winter Mini Challenge is simple.   

  • Sign up at www.wintermini.org.uk to create an online profile (if you took part in the Summer Reading Challenge online you might have a profile already).  Children will be asked to provide a parent/carer email address to approve signup.
  • Read at least 3 books over the holidays. 
  • Rate and review the books on the Winter Mini Challenge website to unlock a virtual badge and download a certificate to print.

The Winter Mini Challenge 2024 runs from Sunday 1 December until Thursday 20 February 2025.
