Find maths a bit scary? Brush up on numbers and take charge of your money with Multiply courses

Published 10th January 2023

Sometimes, we forget how much maths is involved in our daily lives. If the thought of numbers makes you feel nervous, Inspire Adult Learning are here to help.

Multiply courses with Inspire are designed to make maths that bit less scary, with practical sessions and plenty of support to build your confidence. Brush up on skills including fractions, statistics and division in a no-pressure, relaxed environment, and grow your confidence with numbers, whether you need it for work, household budgeting, or just helping kids with homework.

If you’re aged 19+ and don’t already have a GCSE at grade C (or equivalent) in maths, Multiply is available to you, offering relaxed, easy access to free numeracy courses and initiatives to build your confidence in using numbers at work or in everyday life.

Whether you want to attend a drop-in session or a more advanced offers such as GCSE Maths, Level 2 Functional Skills Qualification, or equivalent, we can help you learn at a pace that suits you.

Multiply courses are now running in Inspire Libraries across Nottinghamshire, with classes in core maths skills including fractions, statistics and division, along with practical and fun workshops, where you can apply maths as you create geometric art, get to grips with dates, weights and times. We also run drop-in cost of living cafés, designed to help you maximise your budget and get the most out of your money.

Come along and work together with your tutor and others who feel the same as you do about maths, to discover that it isn't so scary after all.

We learned from each other how we can save money on our shopping - particularly food, creating healthy meals, tips on energy saving ideas, keeping track of our expenses, where our money goes each month and budgeting tips, and where to go for debt advice and how to make extra income!
