We’re excited to welcome you back with our autumn 2021 programme offering adult learning in many of our safe, and welcoming libraries, and learning centres in your local community.

You can also access courses online, from the comfort of your own home – the same friendly, experienced tutors, but online via zoom.

Community and Family Learning

Our community and family learning courses are for everyone aged 19+.

Brush up your Englishmaths and IT skills – all our Functional Skills courses and Essential Digital Skills Qualifications are completely free if you don’t have relevant qualifications already.

You’ll also find courses to boost your career and employability such as part or fully funded level 1 and 2 qualifications in mental health awareness, counselling, volunteering, health and social care, preparing to work in schools and understanding autism. The perfect addition to your cv!

Get creative using textile crafts such as macramé or needle felting, and introduce yourself to the art of colour, glass painting, ink drawing or acrylic painting. Create fireside stories, poetry or write a radioplay.

Learn about heart health or anatomy and physiology, lift your mood through meditation, create mindfulness through photography, or get active with Balletcise.

There’s never been a better time to join us! Courses are low cost or free* and offered both in person and online! We're also holding several open days between 31 August and 8 September where you can try out some of our courses and enrol on the day! 

You can even spend quality time with the family and have fun learning something new together with our fun and free family learning courses. Designed for parents and carers, these courses provide you with enjoyable strategies to understand, support and help the development of your children’s learning. From Makaton and scratch coding to music, we’re sure you’ll find a course the whole family will enjoy.

We know Covid-19 has had an impact on secure employment in our local communities and we’re here to help. As well as employability, functional skills and accredited courses we have dedicated funding through the Way2Work initiative, to support residents in Nottinghamshire, Nottingham, Derby and Derbyshire into training and employment.

If you’re aged 16 or over, unemployed or looking for a career change, you may be eligible for free personalised support with no impact on benefits.

College Courses for Young People

If you’re aged 16-24, and you’re not sure what your next steps are, our programmes for 16-24 year olds could be just what you’re looking for.

You’ll earn up to £20 a week and get help with travel expenses, and a personalised programme with individual support.

Our programmes include Employability Skills, Functional Skills or GCSE Maths and English, and a range of City & Guilds or AIM Awards qualifications in Hospitality, IT, Bricklaying and Construction, Carpentry and Joinery, Painting and Decorating, and Health and Social Care.

Adult Further and Higher Education

Future proof your career with our range of professional qualifications in teaching, management and health and social care.

Learn to teach with our certificate and diploma qualifications in teaching, or brush up and enhance existing skills for that next step in your career with our coaching, management and project management qualifications.

We can even help you get into university through our Access to Higher Education in Health and Social Care course which offers some students a pathway of further study at Nottingham Trent University.
