It’s Learning at Work this week (13-19 May), a unique annual event to put a spotlight on the importance and benefits of continual learning and development. This year, the theme is ‘shaping the future’.

At Inspire Learning, we believe in the importance of continuing to learn while in the workplace, which is why on-the-job training is such a key part of many of our courses.

For young people aged 16-24, there is the opportunity as part of their Study Programmes to take part in a work placement with a local employer to ensure that they have are equipped with the skills needed for work. Some may also choose to do a Traineeship which allows them to spend less time in the classroom and more time in the workplace, designed to help gain vital experience and improve chances of getting an apprenticeship or gaining employment.

Plus, there is a new opportunity of a Supported Internship which are Study Programmes which last up to a year. The majority of learning takes place in the workplace with the help of a job coach. Our aim is that two thirds of interns will move in to roles with their given employer.

For those already in employment who want to shape their future further, our accredited workplace apprenticeships will allow you to do just that. One of our current apprentices over at Lincolnshire County Council, Warwick Grosvenor said:

“The main barrier for me to undertake any formal learning is
time away from work. I work in a very busy management role where I would
struggle to take time away from work to undertake a qualification. Likewise, as
a father of 3 my time outside of work is limited! This course gives me the
opportunity to continue my development by undertaking a qualification with
minimal impact on my day-to-day working life.”

There is also the option to boost your job prospects with an intensive APM Project Management Qualification or take your career to the next level with an ILM Leadership and Management qualification or Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring.

You could even learn to shape other people’s futures with a career in teaching. Train to teach with our Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training.
