Reductions in the Size of our Network: Library Computers

We have seen a significant, but understandable, decline in the use of our public access computer network (437 PCs) in recent years, about a 100,000 hours of use a year.  Due to increased availability of Wifi and the proliferation of mobile devices with internet access.

There is an annual cost to running each computer (hardware, software licences and maintenance costs)

We have therefore decided to reduce the size of our network in the coming months to better reflect the amount of use we are now getting.  The table below shows how each library is affected:
