CLASS Learning Opportunities in Mansfield

Published 24th August 2016

Inspire’s Community Learning and Skills Service (CLASS) is launching a new programme of learning based in My Place in Mansfield from September 2016, which may be of interest to young people receiving GCSE results this week.

Funded by the Education Funding Agency and in partnership with Nottinghamshire County Council, CLASS will be offering 16-19 year olds, free personalised Study Programmes – also available to young people with a learning disability up to the age of 24.  Enrolment is open all year, including start dates between October 2016 and January 2017.   This is in addition to the existing Study Programme and Traineeship provision running from youth centres in Mansfield, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Retford, Ollerton, Eastwood and Stapleford.

CLASS welcome new students who may need to improve their prospects of employment, develop Maths and English through functional skills and GCSEs, and increase in confidence by learning in a friendly atmosphere.

Ian Bond, Head of Nottinghamshire CLASS, said,

“We are very pleased to confirm the launch of both CLASS study programmes in Newark Library and of Community Learning across the county in 14 libraries in every Nottinghamshire District.  So if you didn’t get the GCSE results you were hoping for this year please get in touch”

Building on 15 years’ experience of running similar provision across the county of Nottinghamshire, CLASS is looking forward to a new year of learning opportunities for young people in Mansfield.
